GNOME Internet Radio Locator version 9.7 was released in January 2017. This release contains a port to gstreamer 1.0 by Dominique Leuenberger (GNOME Bugzilla #777397) and updated Czech, Swedish and Spanish translations. https://download.gnome.org/sources/girl/9.7/girl-9.7.0.tar.xz Mac OS X port of 9.7.0 is soon going to be available from http://www.macports.org/ RpmFusion Free Updates of 9.7.0 for Fedora 24 will soon be available on http://rpmfusion.org/ GNOME Internet Radio Locator 9.7.0 supports radio playback in gstreamer 1.0 instead of totem for playback, with Play/Pause/Stop button, but the player GUI is not yet cast in stone, as I'm doing a complete rewrite of GIRL 10.0.0 for GNOME 3 with GTK+ 3.0, libchamplain-gtk 0.12.10 (GNOME Maps / OpenStreetMap) and gstreamer 1.0. GNOME Internet Radio Locator 10.0.0 is soon going to be available after 2 years and 2 months of weekend coding sessions (since November 2014). The test release featuring champlain is available from http://people.gnome.org/~ole/testing/girl-10.0.0-champlain-test.tar.xz I hope the upcoming 10.0.0 code will be easier to read, attract new Free Software contributors and make free, independent radio stations in 78+ cities around the world available to the public on the GNOME platform. Note: The gst-plugins-ugly package (Fedora: gstreamer1-plugins-ugly) is required for some Internet radio stations. The good news on radio, MP3 and Fedora Core is that Fedora 25 will support MP3 playback according to Fredrik Schaller's blog post https://blogs.gnome.org/uraeus/2016/11/ 10/mp3-support-now-coming-to-fedora-workstation-25/ as MP3 will be patent-free on 31 December 2017, so inclusion in Red Hat's Fedora 25 Workstation distribution will be possible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3#Licensing_and_patent_issues Enjoy Internet radio, Ole -- ____/| \ o.O| Ole Aamot, oka oka no, http://oka.no/ =(_)= U "Meow!"
