ANNOUNCE: Tomboy 0.8.0 Released (stable release)

Hi Everyone,

This email is to announce Tomboy 0.8.0.  This is the beginning of the
stable 0.8.x series and will coincide with GNOME 2.20.x.

Tomboy has been branched as "gnome-2-20" for stable (0.8.x)
development.  SVN trunk is now open for new feature development
(0.9.x).


What is Tomboy
=============

Tomboy is a simple personal note-taking application designed to be
unobtrusive and friendly, while supporting inter-note-links similar to
a WikiWikiWeb to help you organize your notes and ideas.  It can run
either as a GNOME panel applet or a notification tray icon.

What's new in Tomboy 0.8.0

 * Note synchronization with a central storage location.
 * Notes left open when Tomboy quits are re-opened at startup.
 * New colors from the Tango palette.
 * Use GNOME Document Font by default.
 * Much expanded and improved DBUS interface.
 * Plugin infrastructure revamped to use Mono.Addins.
 * Many bugs resolved (see below).

The next six months...

For Tomboy 0.10.0, we plan to provide tasks integration, note tagging,
and a more "zen" note synchronization experience.  Our roadmap is not
finalized, so please share your ideas with us on the Tomboy mailing
list, bugzilla, or add them to the wiki.  We always welcome new
contributors, whether they bring one-line patches or entirely new
features.
