GNOME 1.4 Release Candidate 1 Available

"Entropy" is now available for download.

This is the GNOME 1.4 Release Candidate, and if no serious bugs are
found it will become GNOME 1.4 in a short while.

This release includes the Nautilus 1.0 release, as well as many small
fixes everywhere else. This also includes a lot of documentation fixes
by Dan Mueth and the GDP.

Martin Baulig has put together a new web page for downloading GNOME, and
it is available at http://download.gnome.org/. This has pointers to all
of the mirrors. This release is available in the
GNOME/stable/betas/gnome-1.4rc1/ subdirectory.

Also available at this time is the GNOME Fifth Toe 1.4 RC 1 release,
which is a collection of additional packages that are not part of the
core desktop but are designed to work well with gnome. They are
available from the GNOME/stable/betas/gnome-fifth-toe-1.4rc1/
subdirectory.

Sun has put together a test suite for GNOME 1.4, which you can use to
help test this release. These tests are in the gnome-test-plans module
on GNOME CVS, or available at
http://www.gnome.org/~mjs/gnome-test-plans/.

Please report bugs you find to one of the following bug report systems:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/
http://bugzilla.eazel.com/
http://bugzilla.ximian.com/

Bug reports for gnome.org can be made with the new version of Bug Buddy,
included with this release.

With iridescent love,

The GNOME 1.4 Release Team
