ANNOUNCE: Mr Project

Hello Project Management gurus,

This is a call for contribution to Mr Project, a project management
application for GNOME, initiated by the Swedish Open Source company
CodeFactory AB.

* What is it?

Mr Project is a project management program that can help build project
plans, and track the progress of a project.

Mr Project is under heavy development and all contributions are
welcome. If you would like to get involved, please subscribe to the
Mr Project mailing list by sending a mail with "subscribe" in the
message body to mrproject-request lists codefactory se, or visit the
mailing list web page at http://lists.codefactory.se to subscribe.

The development of Mr Project is led by CodeFactory as a free software
project, and all code is licensed under the GNU Public License (GNU GPL).

* Where to get it?

Mr Project is available through CodeFactory's CVS server. To get the
sources, start a terminal and type the following (# is the prompt):

# cvs -d ":pserver:anoncvs cvs codefactory se:/jar/cvsrep" login

(No password, just press enter.)

# cvs -z3 -d ":pserver:anoncvs cvs codefactory se:/jar/cvsrep" co
mrproject

There is also a set of web tools for browsing and searching the source
online at http://cvs.codefactory.se.

Please read the README file for how to build the sources and HACKING
for contributing.

You need GNOME, including gnome-xml, bonobo and gal. All of these
libraries are available in GNOME CVS, under the given names. Most (but
not all) of them are also available as tarballs on ftp.gnome.org, or
as precompiled packages at Ximian's ftp site, ftp.ximian.com.

* Status

What does it do so far? Mr Project has a long way to go before it can
become usable and compete for real with available commercial project
management applications. The basic infrastructure is there, and now
all we have to do is fill in the blanks. If you feel that this is
something you want to help out with, please join the mailing list or
contact us for any questions you might have.

* Where to report bugs or feature requests?

Good luck,
the Mr Project team
