Hi,
A new version of GConf is available:
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/unstable/sources/GConf/GConf-0.10.tar.gz
GConf is a configuration data storage library, see the feature article
on developer.gnome.org for more details.
This version should work a lot better than 0.9. Also, it should
compile with Sun's native C compiler, due to patches from Colm Smyth
at Sun. Colm also contributed a Berkeley DB backend; if you have
version 3 of DB then this will get compiled. The DB backend is faster
than the XML one, but the storage is not plain text. Users can choose
the tradeoff they prefer.
This release doesn't contain any API breakage, just bug fixes. The 0.9
release had some real show-stoppers.
It's even possible that rpm -ta works on this tarball, if you run Red
Hat Linux. But I don't promise. ;-)
Please report any bugs to me or to gconf-list.
Thanks,
Havoc
