New file manager: the un-crashable release

Hello guys,

   This is a bug fix release of the File manager.  No major features.

   I have finally got rid of all those pesky crashes when pressing
cancel in the dialog boxes.  What nobody told me before is that this
only happened when no windows were on the desktop.
