Re: gnome speech


I can't point you to a documentation explaining this situation, however by looking at the gnome git repositories at I can see gnome-speech is no longer there.

I think it has been deprecated several years ago in favour of speech dispatcher which is activelly being maintained up to now. It's recent version has been posted a few weeks ago. Speech-dispatcher is used by orca and even some other AT's.
