*About WAI-ARIA*

WAI-ARIA defines a way to make web content, particularly web applications, more accessible to people with
disabilities. It especially helps with dynamic content and advanced user interface controls developed with
Ajax, HTML, JavaScript, and related technologies. It is introduced in:
WAI-ARIA Overview
        http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/aria

WAI-ARIA works with existing web content technologies, such as HTML, and provides a way to apply the requirements
of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 for rich web applications. Accessibility standards developed by
the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) are listed in WAI Guidelines and Techniques at:

The WAI-ARIA User Agent Implementation Guide is for developers of web browsers and other user agents. It
describes how user agents should support WAI-ARIA; specifically, how to expose WAI-ARIA features to platform
accessibility APIs (application programming interfaces).

*Versions*
The PFWG is working on a few changes for WAI-ARIA 1.1, and considering more changes for WAI-ARIA 2.0. The
in-progress updates to WAI-ARIA 1.1 are available in an Editors' Draft at <http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-1.1/>
The status of WAI-ARIA versions is updated in the WAI-ARIA FAQ at <http://www.w3.org/WAI/aria/faq#status>

Please let us know if you have any questions.
Feel free to circulate this message to other lists; please avoid cross-postings where possible.
