Adding applets in Gnome and other questions

Hi folks,
I'm currently playing with the latest Ubuntu Edgy and particularly with
the applications in Gnome and i just have to say that it's wonderful
that Gnome has come so far as it has accessibility wise. However, i want
to ask the list a couple questions:
Firstly i've tried to add applets to panels in Gnome with Orca, and it
looks as this feature isn't accessible, unless there's a way i don't
know of. If there is, would someone please shed some light on how to do
this?
2: could someone who successfully uses the calender part of Evolution
with speach and/or braille please contact me off-list at
mailto:krister kristersplace ws, i'd like to know how you access the
calendar to look for events if you got many events listed etc.
