There most be an other problem with Gnopernicus because the table for
latin1 included the German characters.

Below the German characters and the decimal value of them:

Uppercase

Ü -> 220
Ö -> 214
Ä -> 196

Lowercase:
ü -> 252
ö -> 246
ä -> 228

The only German character that seem to be missing is the 'sharp" 'ß'
that is in Germany and Austria used but not in Switzerland.
