About Java and the "bridges":

As Jason mentioned before, there are two 'java access bridges'.  One is 
for Windows, and if you are running on Windows you will need to make 
sure your screen reader supports the Java Access Bridge for Windows in 
order for it to work.

If you are on Gnome/Linux/Solaris, then there is a different Java Access 
Bridge for Gnome, which is what the "java-access-bridge" package for 
Gnome provides.  It bridges Java applications, and OpenOffice, to the 
AT-SPI accessibility interfaces which gnopernicus, gok, and orca use.
