Hi all,
Does any one know if it is possible to get to this area with the
keyboard,
Control-Alt-TAB (cycles between panels and desktop, etc.).
and then is it possible to select different items there with the
keyboard?
TAB, Shift-TAB, arrow keys. Control-TAB to get out of panel widgets
that grab "TAB" for their own purposes. IOW, just like the rest of Gnome.
You might want to peruse the Gnome Accessibility Guide and the Keyboard
Accessibility (draft) spec, which discuss Gnome keynav.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
