Re: java-access-bridge problems

Hi Don,

The error message suggests that something is wrong with your symlink or with the build of gnome-java-bridge.jar (that's what we usually call it, not gnome-access-bridge.jar).

By the way, Sun just made available a JDK 6.0 Binary snapshot (and source too). See the binary at http://www.java.net/download/jdk6/binaries/ I've got the Linux JDK runnnig on my system now. Seems a bit faster, and a JMenuBar accessibility bug that crept into JDK 1.5 is now fixed (and in the process of being back-ported to a JDK 1.5.0_0x release).

Hello,

I just did a fresh fc3 install from the iso's at linux-speakup.org, and
configured
gnopernicus to work fine with festival.

Next, I installed j2sdk1.4.2_03 from java.sun.com to /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_03.
Next I checked out java-access-bridge from the gnome cvs repository.
I compiled java-access-bridge and installed it to /opt/jab
I then created symlinks for /opt/jab/share/jar/gnome-access-bridge.jar and
/opt/jab/share/jar/jnav.jar to
/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_03/jre/lib/ext.

verified using locate command:

/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_03/jre/lib/ext/gnome-access-bridge.jar
/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_03/jre/lib/ext/jnav.jar

My .orbitrc file contains the following:
ORBIIOPUNIX=1
ORBIIOPIPv4=1

When I start gnome, and open a terminal window and attempt to run the
notepad demo
shipped with the jdk, I get:
