Re: Mozilla - like JAWS or like Hal?

Hi Luke,

Thanks for your continued comments.

You wrote in response to my question:
     a. What is good, and what can be improved, in Gnopernicus access to
Nautilus and the actual desktop window itself?

A way to force focus on the desktop, that is if there isn't one that I don't know about.

Ctrl-Alt-Tab cycles focus through all of the GNOME Panels and the desktop itself. This is very similar to Alt-Tab for cycling between top-level windows; the GUI widgets are the same and Gnopenricus speaks them the same way. Once focus is on the desktop, arrow keys will move focus betwen the icons on the desktop (e.g. "Trash", "Home Folder", etc.).

This is documented in the GNOME Desktop Accessibility Guide. See section 3.3 "Navigating Panels".

...
f. What are the most important things you want to use with Gnopernicus but cannot use yet?

Web browsing, and a good word processor.

Let us know once you get StarOffice/OpenOffice.org up and running...
