[HELP] Building GOK 0.10.0 (tarball from gok.ca) : dependencies !

I get the following, on RedHat 8 or Fedora Core when trying to build
gok :

configure: error: Library requirements (        libgnomeui-2.0 >=
2.0.0
        cspi-1.0 >= 1.3.4       libspi-1.0
>= 1.3.4        libbonobo-2.0 >= 2.0.0          atk >= 1.3.0         
 
        gtk+-2.0 >= 2.3.1               gail

the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a
nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.



Of course, when I try to solve these dependencies, I have to solve
more and more dependencies and cannot manage it !

Is there a way (static libs ?) to get rid of most of these dependencies
?

If not, what is the best distribution ?
 
Is downloading and installing the latest GNOME a solution ?
