Is it still necessary to build cvs gnome-speech over the libgnome-speech for dectalk ondebian?

Hi

Well the subject states the question.  I'd like to use dectalk software
on my debian sid system.  Do I need to compile gnome-speech separately
and over the top of libgnome-speech?
