Re: GOK : I'd like to contribute.

Michel,

There is a lot of stuff to respond to here ;-)

Let's tackle the updating to the latest version problem first (as you suggest).

Can you tell me/us which linux distribution you are using?

I'll answer this one myself.. you are using Fedora Core 1 right? (blush)

I'm not aware of specific issues with building GNOME on FC1, perhaps others could comment?

cheers,

David

GNOME is notoriously difficult to build. I generally don't recommend it unless you are a linux whiz with GNU Tools experience. Some folks get lucky though. Do you feel lucky? http://www.gnome.org/start/2.6/notes/rninstallation.html (be sure to check http://lists.gnome.org/archives/gnome-devel-list/2004-April/msg00005.html first)

If that doesn't work out... come back here.

cheers,

David

First, I really need to be able to build the latest Gok version.
But I get dependencies errors (I'm using FC1 Linux).

I have two questions regarding this :

1) What is the best way to upgrade my packages and install the required
libs ? (I've try to go through RPMs, but I get more and more
dependecies to solve and it's quickly becoming a nightmare...)

2) Perhaps with 'yum' but to which repository to point ? / Or you could
send me the files ?

Package cspi-1.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `cspi-1.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a
nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
