I would recommend installing the garnome distribution. That will give you 
a fairly up-to-date version of Gnome, without the instability of the 
latest CVS. The most recent is garnome-0.24.2, but a new release of Gnome, 
and therefore of garnome, is expected very soon. You can install 
Gnopernicus as part of garnome, but until the patch makes it into 
gnopernicus and then garnome you will have to reinstall from CVS.
