Well, that just points up the need for a comprehensive document. however, 
after I did that there is still no change in the braille display and the 
message about Gnopernicus using an idle callback is still appearing when I 
move the mouse. This time my mousing and keyboarding activated gnome-htlp, 
so that part is working at least. i know this because it complained about 
losing it's connection to the display  when I did control-c.
