Re: html editors?

Hi, Jane.
Well, gedit does have some advantages over text based text editors such as
pico.
Unlike pico or nano gedit will allow you to work on several documents at
once where the editors like pico will only allow one document to be open at
any given time unless you use something like screen.
Being a gnome based application gedit has allot of commands which are vary
familiar to Windows users. For example control-f for find, control-c to
copy, con
trol-v to paiste, and control-o to open a file.
I find pico and nanos commands down right weird such as control-r to open a
file, ontrol-o to save a file, control-k to kill a line, and control-u to
paiste text. Those commands are not as easy to get use to if you came from
Windows like I did to Linux.
You mentioned it is not worth it start x-windows to just use a text editor.
If I was running at runlevel 3 I would agree with you, but I actually start
x on startup, and access the consol via gnome-terminal and yasr and rarely
actually exit x.
So for me gedit is as easy is bringing up run and typing gedit.
Lastly, pico or nano do not work well with gnopernicus which was what Hank
was originally asking about.
Hth.

I think html editors are really not a big deal if you don't mind doing it
all by hand.
