gnopernicus and gnome terminal

Hi listers,

I wanted to use the gnome terminal in order to try launching a java
application.

Problem : When I launch the terminal, gnopernicus reports that it is an
unknown terminal and does not want to read the command line. Or, perhaps, I
don't know how to bring the display to it. So, what should I do?
