Hi
In short I:
Installed X and Gnome 2 from Debian about 26 July 2003 and Festival came
up talking straight away.
I purchased Dectalk and installed it.
I checked out from cvs July 31 Gnome Speech and installed it over the
previous version. The test program discovered and is able to play both
synthesisers as desired.
I loaded Gnome and Festival came up talking as expected. However, I
wanted to use the Dectalk driver. So I went to the Absolute settings
and selected Dectalk and voice Paul. I didn't know if I needed to use
the Force button the first time round but as my changes were not
successful, I navigated the dialogs and used the Force button and
haven't had speech since. This the same for all users.
Where do I go from here?
Thanks.
Gena
