best synthesizer for Gnopernicus

Hi.  I have Gnopernicus working with Festival, but I understand that
Festival isn't the best synth to use with Gnopernicus.  I have to use
kill -9 PID on several processes every time I end my Gnome session.

What is the best synth to use?
