I did not look at the underlying AT-SPI system so far as the corba
interaction was the most scaring thing that kept me away (ATK settles on
AT-SPI, so this is a somewhat poor excuse ;-).

An AT-SPI wrapper (be it py-atspi or the cspi library) is, together with
the IA2 API for Win32 platforms, on my TODO list, but unlikely to be
started before I finished a platform neutral access around the ATK and
MSAA wrappers.

ATK however will not vanish. Instead AT-SPI can be used later on as
binding where Glib/ATK is not available or applicable - in case the
AT-SPI implementation(s) do not use Glib.
