Hi!
I just installed java-access-bridge-0.6 and gnome-speech-0.4.5 in the
top of a Gnome-2.16.0 Desktop.
Now I tried to run the test-speech program but it fails.
I compiled gnome-speech in this way:
./configure --prefix=/opt/gnome-2.16.0
--with-freetts-dir=/opt/freetts/lib --with-speech-dispatcher ; make;
make install; ldconfig.
When I run the test-speech in the menu appears only 1:
OAFIID:GNOME_Speech_SynthesisDriver_Festival:proto0.3
not the FreeTTS nor the Dispatcher, however all the three server files
are in /opt/gnome-2.16.0/lib/bonobo/servers dir.
So I tried to run manually the FreeTTS drivers but it ends in this way:
sh
/opt/gnome-2.16.0/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Speech_SynthesisDriver_FreeTTS.server
/opt/gnome-2.16.0/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Speech_SynthesisDriver_FreeTTS.server:
line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
/opt/gnome-2.16.0/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Speech_SynthesisDriver_FreeTTS.server:
line 1: `<oaf_info>'
FreeTTS is version 1.2.1 and it works with the streaming method, java is
jdk-1.5.0_07 from Sun Microsystem.
FreeTTS is installed in /opt/freetts-1.2.1 with a symlink /opt/freetts
pointing to it; jdk is installed in /opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0.07 with a symlink
/opt/jdk/jdk pointing to it.
What is the problem and how to solve it?
Thanks,
Luca
