[g-a-devel]Re: gnome-speech : attempt to use with ViaVoice

Hi Adi,

To get the Viavoice support in GNOME speech to work, you'll need both the Viavoice TTS SDK and RTK for Linux from IBM's web site. Install them and make sure they work. Then configure and build gnome-speech, and the ViaVoice driver should build and install and work. If it doesn't let me know-- it's working for me here. This reminds me to put together a simple README, which I'll do posthaste.

To run the festival driver, ensure that you run the "festival_server" application in the background before starting up any app that uses speech.

Thanks,

Marc
