Hmmm, sorry didn't at all mean to imply that your code somehow wasn't
working... Basically, what seems to be hapenning is that I start my test
app, then I start an app which crashes or is interrupted. Then any future
GNOME apps don't seem to properly communicate back to the test app (I.E., I
get no more speech feedback from apps I start after the first one
crashed). I'll try to get a better scenario for you, and see what I can
track down...

What about at-spi doesn't fare well ? I spent a little while ensuring
that applications were de-registered correctly from the registry when
they abnormally terminated. What is the issue here ?

Well :-) it depends what the problem is, is it just a debug spew
problem ? the at-spi API should return error condition values on
exception (COMM_EXCEPTION being when the remote app dies) - I spent many
hours getting that right - I'm surprised you're having issues.
So in short - what's the problem :-)
