Default encoding for the GNOME 2.0 .po files

Hi, I want to get an official answer from the GNOME 2.0 Release Team
about the encoding we (the translators) should use at .po files for
GNOME 2.0 that we upload into cvs.gnome.org.

I think that we should use utf8 but I want an official confirmation, if
it's possible, about this question.
