	You should have the following env variables exported :

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/gnome2/lib"
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/opt/gnome2/lib/pkgconfig"
export CERTIFIED_GNOMIE=1
export DISABLE_CRASH_DIALOG=1
export USE_GNOME_2_MACROS=1

	And make sure you use this while building :

./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/gnome2 --with-runtime-debug
--enable-platform-gnome-2

	You misses the enable-platform-gnome-2 thingie ;-)
