I don't think it's necessary to do that yet; I still haven't seen much
discussion of most of the points in question. 

If people would actually try to sort things out they might
succeed. ;-)

Suggestion: focus on specifics. People have given lots of specific
considerations regarding the gconf/bonobo-config thing and what the
implications of those are. I haven't seen a full discussion of the
specifics though; for example, the startup time issue has only been
presented from one side.

I haven't seen much in the way of specifics on the larger change
("which branch") - perhaps posting each change as a separate thread
would help.

It probably makes sense to move the whole discussion to
gnome-libs-devel, also, instead of this list.
