AFAIK Pan isn't an acronym, I always thought it referred to the famous
Greek god who liked to chase women (as seen on the about page ;) So the
app name certainly isn't offensive (unless you have really thin skin,
or a issue with mythology).

Now the domain does have the word "pimp" in it (which some might find
offensive), but in no way should this keep the program from being
included. Pan is simply put the BEST news reader I've ever used (and
I've used them all), it's  exactly the sort of next generation GNOME
application I'd be proud to showcase. It has every feature available 
under the sun and the interface is a joy to use. It makes excellent use
the GNOME technologies and it has been translated into 10+ languages. 
Helix Code, Mandrake and Red Hat include Pan in their distributions,
obviously they didn't find the program offensive.
