Regrets:
--------
Decisions:
----------
- Nautilus will not have the ability to fall back on the
non-scrollkeeper sidebar. Scrollkeeper is now required for
Nautilus.
Work Done:
----------
- DONE: Dan Mueth -- HACKING files created in gnome-user-docs and
gnome-devel-doc.
- DONE: Alexander Kirillov -- created a list of documentation to be
moved into the gnome-user-docs module, and send it to Gregory
Leblanc <gleblanc cu-portland edu>
- DONE: Telsa Gwynne -- created a gnome-user-docs product in
bugzilla.
- DONE: John Fleck and Dan Mueth -- tested l10n and i18n in
gnome-db2html2. It doesn't work, but a detailed bug report has been
filed, and "it should be easy to fix".
- DONE: Dan Mueth, John Fleck, Mike Fleming-- bugs #4302, #5945, and
#6761 are fixed and verified.
- DONE: Laszlo Kovacs -- Enabled scrollkeeper in the default builds of
Nautilus, and in the hourly builds.
- DONE: Kevin Breit -- Divided docs into groups so that QA volunteers
can sign up.
http://battery841.myip.org/school/gnome-1.4-category.txt/ps
- DONE: Laszlo Kovacs -- locale fallback in scrollkeeper has been
fixed.
Work in Progress/To Be Done:
----------------------------
- TODO: Dan Mueth -- Draft note to the hackers informing them that in
order to build gnome packages with have OMF from source and have the
OMF data installed properly, scrollkeeper-preinstall must be
available. This means that you need to have Scrollkeeper installed
before building packages for distribution.
- TODO: Dan Mueth Kenny Graunke -- create build system in
gnome-user-docs and gnome-devel-docs. Once build system is in place
inform gnome-hackers about the new modules and refer them to the
HACKING files for further information.
- TODO: Gregory Leblanc -- move documentation into the new
gnome-user-docs module, after clarifying the correct procedure for
moving docs in CVS with Martin Baulig, or another vetran hacker.
- TODO: Gregory Leblanc -- find script that puts the FAQ (and possibly
other gnome-user-docs documents) onto the website, and find the
maintainer. Have the script changed to look to gnome-user-docs
instead of gnome-docu.
- TODO: Telsa Gwynne -- add components and version numbers to the
gnome-user-docs module in bugzilla.
- TODO: Gregory Leblanc -- gather a list of the packages included in
the GNOME 1.4 core and extra-apps distributions which need GDP
coordinators. Mail list of packages to gnome-doc-list for
volunteers.
- IN PROGRESS: Dan Mueth -- Emailed Jacob Berkman about making
nautilus the default help browser in gnome-libs.
- IN PROGRESS: John Fleck -- check on support for using multiple fonts
in the Nautilus Help Sidebar.
- TODO: John Fleck, Laszlo Kovacs, Dan Mueth -- work out l10n issues.
- IN PROGRESS: Telsa Gwynne-- create a "documentation" component for any
products in bugzilla which don't already have one. Kevin Breit to
be the default contact on these products. Telsa will also try to
find and kill the products which are using some component other than
"documentation".
- IN PROGRESS: Kevin Breit -- develop quality assurance tests, and
document this procedure so that it can be applied for GNOME
1.4. See:
http://battery841.myip.org/school/checklist.txt
http://www.gnome.org/~mjs/gnome-test-plans/ and
gnome-test-plans in CVS for details.
- TODO: John Fleck -- determine status of glossary.[xml sgml] so that
it can be translated.
- IN PROGRESS: Telsa Gwynne -- talk to the i18n teams about making
translating documentation easier.
- TODO: Dan Mueth -- Mail gnome-hackers to inform them that all gnome
tarballs that include GDP docs need to include a COPYING-DOCS file
which contains the GNU Free Documentation License in plain text
format. It should be installed along side the COPYING file, which
should contain the license for the package (GPL/LGPL)
- TODO: Chris Lyttle -- Work on GNOME Users Guide. Add a "New in
GNOME 1.4" section near the beginning of the Guide. See about the
feasibility of getting the Users Guide included with Beta 3
- TODO: Kevin Breit -- Polish the existing dia documentation and have
it included (and linked to the help menu) in the next release.
- TODO: Dan Mueth -- Assist John Fleck in verifing some
Nautilus/gnome-db2html2 bugs.
