I don't want to start a massive thread on multiple lists. So I suggest
bugzilla for "I saw this too" responses.
On #gnome-help (irc.gnome.org) several people have mentioned that they
have compiled gnome 1.4 from scratch and "some icons have gone". Some
of this can be accounted for in obvious ways. For example, there's a
couple of icons in xchat which only appear if it has gnome-support
compiled in. However, others can't. Yet.
The only thing that is consistent is that they compiled it themselves.
Useful, yes, I know :( The distributions vary. Unfortunately, people
aren't too clear on which icons, and the icons are provided from a
wide variety of packages.
I tried bugzilla, and only one person (whom I have cc'd) has reported
it there.
If anyone has met this, can they add some more details (OS, whether
they used any special ./configure options, which specific icons are
present or absent) into the solitary report in bugzilla as extra
comments? All my IRC notes can be summarised as "distro: varies.
version: 1.4. compiled from tarballs." Which is not really enough.
It's bug number 53474: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53474
(As an aside: please use bugzilla. It's a great way to ensure information
doesn't get lost and it accepts attachments such as screenshots and
patches. Mail is not so good for either of those!)
I haven't met it, because I haven't compiled the whole thing.
Telsa
