Officially, Evolution will be the Gnome mail client long-term.

If it's usable, integrated with Gnome and serves a valid need, then
sure.

I haven't tried any of the Gnome ones, so I don't know. "Spruce" and
"Mahogany" also appear to be at least somewhat actively developed.
