Nothing huge, except for that the macros themselves are much more
modular (easier to debug), cleaner, and there are more of them available
by default.  Docs are a little better, too.  :)

2.52 is the version I have also... I mistyped.

If you want, I can convert configure.in -> configure.ac and submit a
patch.
