[gnet] configure script.. bug?

Hi,
I'm part of the GnomeICU team and our new version uses GNet 1.1.0... some
of our users who have installed libgnet in /usr/local instead of /usr say
that the configure script has problems finding it... Is it a known
problem?
Our code is at http://gnomeicu.sf.net and in the gnome cvs, module
gnomeicu...
