Well Murray, thanks a lot for the feedback!
Please reply to bugzilla in bugzilla. Or at least please reply to the
same email thread (when there is one) when continuing a discussion.
i started again, creating just a Patients table and then using the
gui to create the related table & relationship. i then created a few
fields for the newly created, dependent table, Visits. i then went in
and using Patients, created a layout which contained fields from both
tables.
This time i was able to input data into both tables, but upon
examining each table, the only fields available were the original ones
that Glom creates when it creates a table, i.e. the Comments, ID and
Description fields.
Please define "examining each table". Do you mean that the fields
disappeared somehow from the Define Fields window, or do you mean that
you could not see them on the Details view. Or do you mean that the
fields were there, but the data was not in the fields?
In layout view, i could go back to the new records of the Patients
table, but nothing that i had typed appeared in the Visits sub-table.
Upon examining the Relationships i saw that Glom had not created
anything in the From Field. i don't know if this is correct or not
but...
You might send me the file again so I can investigate.
When i examine the Visits table, i see that it now has some 9 records
while the Patients has three, which is as it "should" be since there
are normally more visits than patients :D
So, i'm still experimenting...
Have a great evening! :)
