[Glade-users] Displaying a progress bar

Let's say I have C++ program which displays progress by printing values
from 1 to 100 on the screen.

Assuming I also have a python function which calls this C++ program.

How can I use glade to retrieve these counter values live and print them
to some kind of display progress GUI?

Basically, if I press a button in glade, it will run the C++ program and
display it's progress on a progress bar widget.

Any ideas?
