[gitg] Help me to getting started?

Hey, I am trying to make gitg show git commit history graph in a
github "NetWork" fashion, but I am new to gnome and vala development,
can somebody explain to me which code controls how the commit graph is
drawn? Which file and which method specificly should I look at?
