[Gimp-web] Download for Ubuntu Button

Hi everyone,

This is regarding the Gimp package available for Ubuntu. As I look at the download page of Gimp, I see several links to download Gimp. Would it possible to include a "Download for Ubuntu" button on the download page? Any user who clicks on it will be redirected to the online ubuntu software center which you can see at https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/gimp/. This provides several advantages like providing an easy way for any ubuntu user to install Gimp and read reviews posted by other users. It also means that we can show people the ratings and reviews and other potential features for non-Ubuntu users.

This initiative was started by Jono Bacon, the community manager for Ubuntu. You can read more about this in his blog post at http://www.jonobacon.org/2012/06/06/download-for-ubuntu-button-campaign/.

If you are interested you can include the "download for Ubuntu button" by including the following html snippet in your download page.

<a href="https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/gimp/";><img src="http://developer.ubuntu.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/downloadonubuntubutton.png"; title="Download for Ubuntu" alt="Download for Ubuntu button" width="122" height="49" /></a>

Eager to see your reply on this matter.

With kind regards,
Nekhelesh Ramananthan
Ubuntu volunteer
