Re: [Gimp-user] Cannot move layer

Maybe it was that he had a floating selection? aka. a pseudo-layer directly atop the source layer, used
mainly with the select tools. Clicking outside the selection with a selection-based tool will (by default!)
anchor (merge) the selection back into its source layer. If this is the case, go to the Layers menu and the
first command will be "To New Layer" which will detach the floating selection from its source layer.

What was the solution?

Curious minds want to know.
