[Gimp-user] Need to remove grey border

I am trying to make the background of my logo transparent. I am able to do this
but when I export as png to use the logo for email signature, advertising, etc
it always shows with a thin grey line. The image is a single layer. How do i
remove the grey border? Also the border only shows on 2 sometimes 3 sides of the
image
