[Gimp-user] Search function crashes Mac

I am running the latest version of Gimp - 8.22.  It has lost the folders to
which I previously saved, or exported files, and does not see them in the Export
Image window.  When I look for them by clicking on Search and entering a folder
name in the Search line, it immediately crashes.  Is anyone else experiencing
this problem?  If so, any solutions?
