I did not suggest using Font Book.app to deactivate system files. I
tried to say that removing fonts from /System/Library/Fonts is
potentially harmful. I suggested using Font Book.app to browse,
organise and/or manage your fonts.

Also as ugajin suggests, try using Font Book to deactivate system
files, rather than removing them.

The reason you cannot remove the "system fonts" is that they are

Do you have any recommendations on how to get "authentication from
Apple via an
Apple ID" or where I should post to get help from Apple on this?
