My understanding of the license of the Gimp is, that this is perfectly
legal to do without asking permission from the gimp authors.

The license does not put any restrictions on the use of gimp, please
feel free to do whatever you like.

Plus it gives us gimp authors a boost when we discover Gimp on
television or in movies    :)
