Well, this is a different mailing list. On a different list server.

So gimp-user-list and gimp-developer-list (both @gnome.org) are
processed by different servers?

That does seem odd, at first, but IIRC I did have to register on it
separately....

Gene has forwarded a list membership warning mail sent from a mailing
list server at SourceForge, which manages the gimp-print-devel

As you have correctly stated, we maintain the gimp lists on the
mail.gnome.org server, and so can't do anything about the SF list
configuration.

P.S. The message also contains a list membership password - which has
been changed by now, I hope?

I probably should, but with a pw that short, I am still grappling with
the fact that it doesn't appear to have ever been hacked in the
nominally decade I've been subbed to that list. OTOH, that list or
myself are "low value" targets I guess. In any event, its an
automatically generated pw, one that needs to be 3 or 4x longer before
any claims about pw security are claimed.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
