[Gimp-user] Mac open as layers issue

I've noticed that when using the official Mac version (2.8.16) that opening
images as layers pops open a stand-alone program to load a layer, then closes
the program and the next layer pops open the same loading program and closes it.
This continues until all of the layers are done loading.

The net effect is that while the layers are loading, then focus is constantly
being stolen by the newly opening loading program, which makes it very hard to
do anything else at the same time.
