Hi Pat,
Thanks for responding.  Regarding other requirements I'm not sure.  It will be a learning process for me 
because I've not built GIMP on a Mac before.  I'll follow up by sending you my public key so that you can 
create a user for me to log in via SSH.  Would you be willing to give my user administrator rights so that I 
can manage it?  What version of Mac OS is it running?
