[Gimp-user] Paste single image in new doc pastes multiple times

When I cut, and copy an image to the clipboard and then paste the image into a new, blank page, it pastes the
image multiple times (about 20) on the one page. How can I revert to it pasting just one image? Thank you
for your help!
