I don't think the regression that causes the problem was caused by GEGL code. I think it's probably in GIMP. Anyway, with babl/GEGL/GIMP updated today, I still sometimes see horizontal lines. The problem seems to have been introduced some time after October 9th.

The lines aren't there at 12.5, 25, 50, and 100% zoom. But they appear (not in all images and not all the time even in the same image) at 18.5, 33, and 67% zoom. The dimensions of one image in which they appear are 2594 × 3898 pixels, if that makes any difference. Maybe a tiling issue?
